Play Any Pokemon ROM on your Droid [With Cheats]

Hey all.  Pretty simple tutorial today.  This tutorial was made with the Droid 2 in mind, however it should work just fine with similar motorola smartphones.  I'm pretty sure the Gameboid app is available on multiple mobile platforms.

Getting the Emulator:

First you'll need to go to the market and download the Gameboid App.  I'd highly recommend buying the paid version - it's well worth the five dollars.  There is also a light version, but I don't think it allows you to save your games.  Could be good if you wanna give it a try first though!

Once it's downloaded, you're going to need a file before it will run.  You can download it [here].  [The one named GBA Bios.]  Since I don't have a way to connect my computer to my droid anymore, what I did was download it onto my computer, unzip it, and then email it to myself as an attachment.  From there save the .bin file to your phone.

Now open up the app on your phone.  It's going to ask you to locate the bios file - use the directories to find that .bin file [usually under /download].  This makes your emulator playable.  Now all we need is the games!

There should be a little spider icon near the upper left corner.  Follow the directions to install the free program from the marketplace.  This is going to make it much much easier to find ROMs.  Once installed, hitting this button will now bring you to a list of downloadable stable ROMs.  You can use the search feature to find whatever games you want, and download them directly.

The ROMs will be under the directory roms/gba/ which can be accessed using the sd card button next to the spider icon.  This file will open automatically when you open up the app once you've accessed it once.  To start up the game just select the ROM you want to play - from there, everything works as it would on a normal GBA.

How to enter cheats:

At any point once the game is loaded, hit the menu button on your phone. [The four squares near the bottom of the phone for people new to their droid phones.]  It will pop up a menu which includes a button labeled 'Cheats'.  Once you open it up, hit the menu button again, which will give you an option to enter a new cheat.

From there will pop up a set of input boxes that will seem familiar if you've ever used codes on an emulator before.  The one annoying thing about doing this on your phone is you will have to enter the codes manually - seems to be corrupted any other way - but it also seems pretty stable, so you can save a lot of codes in the memory and turn them off and on as you need [green checks mean they're on, tapping them once will grey them out, disabling them] When entering the codes, you can enter multiple rows of code using spaces between each row.

I'll try and label cheats here as I try them according to whether or not they seem to be working with gameboid.
